Today the Lord spoke to me to send this message to you as a leader in our church. There are two things I feel compelled to share with you.

  1. VISION – We are entering into a new phase in the fulfillment of our destiny as a church. The message last Sunday …  “2010 – Decade of Vision – 2020” … is setting an exciting new course for us. I believe God is speaking these changes to our church and I believe the changes are good. I need to hear from you…what do you feel? What is God saying to you? Are you in agreement with the vision? Please take a little time to send an email to me and include any scriptures, dreams/visions and ideas you have. It can be simple or detailed…but I would like to hear from each of you. I want & need your input…we are walking together in this vision.
    • Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) – Where there is no vision, the people perish
    • “When the leaders lead..the people follow”

  2. ENCOURAGEMENT – I believe the enemy is trying to discourage many of our leaders by telling them lies. He is the father of lies and uses every opportunity to convince us we are not good enough, not smart enough, not strong enough and that we should not be a leader in the church. He is a liar…this is not true. You are a leader. God needs you and we need you. Everyone fights discouragement at times…but the key is “fighting in faith”…fighting with right thinking, not wrong thinking. I felt the Spirit speak to me to write out a declaration for us to read together in faith. I believe you should take some time the next few days…get alone, put your hand on your heart and read out loud the statement below. Let it get into your spirit…renew your mind…think differently about who God says you are.

“I believe the Lord has called me to be a leader in The City Church…
The Lord has enabled me…He has given me ability to lead people…
I have received an impartation of spiritual gifting to lead people…
I have received power from the Holy Spirit to lead people…
I am learning and growing in my skill as a leader…

Today…I break off any insecurity, fear or comparison the enemy has put on my life.
I am valued by God and valuable to the success of The City Church.
I love people…I care for people…I have compassion for them through good times and difficult times. I’m committed to the vision of The City Church…I see thousands coming…I commit to doing my part to seeing this vision become a reality.
I’m on the team…I’m a leader, by the grace of God.”

    • Deut 31:23 – Then He inaugurated Joshua…and said, “Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”
    • Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Repeat this declaration many times…start believing it! Print it out & put it on your mirror or on the fridge…make it accessible.

We are fulfilling the vision for this church together.
